Context
Uganda faces energy shortages and environmental degradation due to deforestation. Municipal solid waste disposal is a major challenge, with tragic incidents like the Kiteezi garbage collapse. Biomass waste can be carbonized into briquettes, providing affordable cooking fuel, reducing domestic expenditure, and empowering women economically.
